FAQ
-
What is your primary medium?
I use watercolor and gouache.
-
What is the difference between watercolor and gouache?
In simple terms, gouache is a lot thicker than watercolor. The paint has more opacity and it gives an acrylic like finish. Unless layered with a lot of paint, watercolor is more transparent and has a watery consistency.
-
What materials do you use?
I use a luxurious paper for all of my paintings. The paper is manufactured by Arches and is 640 g/m ² – 300lb. Since my paintings are very opaque, I need a paper that is very thick and durable. For paint, I use colors from Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, Acryla, and more.
-
How do you price your work?
My pricing is based on how much time it takes me to complete a painting. All of my paintings take a lot of time and energy. I incorporate a lot of detail, which takes me even longer. On average, I spend about a month or two per painting. I make sure every painting meets my standards. If I’m not pleased with my work. I will not include that work on my website.
-
Do you offer commissions?
I offer commissions if my client’s vision fits with my line of work. If interested, we will talk about subject matter (kinds of food, fabrics, flowers, color, etc.) Since my paintings take a while, I will ask for a downpayment and then the final payment once the painting is completed.
-
Do you sell your paintings worldwide?
Anyone can purchase my paintings. I live in Colorado and depending on the client’s address, shipping and handling may vary.
